Motorists should prepare for a new round of roadwork beginning the week of August 19, as the city embarks on a series of infrastructure improvements. According to the City of Commerce City, drivers can expect lane closures and shifts that could impact their daily commutes. Authorities urge motorists to remain alert in construction zones, follow posted signs, and prioritize the safety of road workers and flag personnel.
One of the key areas affected will be Chambers Road at E. 117th Avenue, where lane closures will occur Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for utility work scheduled to be completed by early September. For further details, Amber Gombos can be contacted at 719-722-4686. Simultaneously, Potomac Street will undergo lane closures and shifts between E. 104th and E. 100th Avenues as part of a road widening project, with work taking place Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and expected to finish by mid-September. Scott Finn at 720-871-7252 is available for project-related inquiries.
The City of Commerce City has noted that the construction schedules are tentative and subject to change without prior notice. They emphasize the importance of staying focused and avoiding distractions while driving through these construction zones to ensure safety.
