According to the TxDOT highway cameras, after the El Paso accident, westbound traffic was detoured off the freeway and eastbound traffic was reduced to one lane. By approximately 10:30 a.m., tow trucks had cleared the jackknifed tractor-trailer, and traffic was able to resume. During the closure, drivers experienced significant delays, with traffic backup observed as far east as Viscount Boulevard.
