On Monday, U.S. Marshals arrested a Jackson, Tennessee man named Parrish Transou, who was sought on multiple felony charges, including attempted murder in Shelby County, as reported by Action News 5. The 44-year-old was found in Memphis and taken into custody around 9 a.m. by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force. Transou was wanted for a September 2019 incident where he allegedly fired several shots at two brothers outside of a North Memphis apartment complex over a monetary dispute, with both men sustaining injuries.
The U.S. Marshals stated that in addition to the violent crimes in Shelby County, Transou also faced legal troubles in Madison County. According to FOX13 Memphis, his charges there include petition to revoke a suspended sentence, failure to properly report back to court after a positive drug screen, theft of property, and 11 counts of forgery. The details regarding how these charges specifically tie back to Transou’s alleged activities remain unclear, though they compound the legal challenges he now faces.
Following the arrest, Transou was booked into the Shelby County jail, awaiting further legal proceedings on charges of criminal attempt first-degree murder and aggravated assault. WBBJTV reported on the Madison County allegations, adding context to the breadth of allegations that have been amassing against Transou over the past years.
Transou's arrest culminates a search that spanned several years and multiple counties, shining a light on the dedicated efforts of federal law enforcement to apprehend those charged with serious crimes. The evolution of his case will likely continue to unfold in the Tennessee court system, where the array of charges against him will undoubtedly be meticulously examined to determine his legal fate.
