In a recent event that caught the attention of local authorities, a deputy from Constable Mark Herman's Office apprehended a man for reckless driving on August 11. The incident, which took place in the 19800 block of the Katy Freeway, saw the driver, identified as Kayleb Gombos, reaching 130 mph in a zone where the 65 mph speed limit is a sharp contrast.
The stop led to Gombos' detention, and a subsequent investigation dug up a concerning history; he was out on bond for two counts of Possession of Child Pornography. According to details released, Gombos now faces a new charge of Reckless Driving, a serious offense considering the speeds involved. "Kayleb Gombos was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Reckless Driving. His bond was set at $500.00 out of County Court 11," Constable Mark Herman stated in a Facebook post.
Details about his pending cases for child pornography charges are not fully known, however, his current entanglement with the law for reckless driving introduces a new layer to an already complex legal situation.
