A Kissimmee police officer, Andrew Baseggio, has been indicted and arrested following charges of misconduct that extend back to an April 2023 incident. According to WFTV, a grand jury brought forth the indictment after a state investigation into Baseggio's actions, which had previously warranted only a suspension from his duties at the Kissimmee Police Department. The recorded incident, now scrutinized by the legal system, shows Baseggio forcibly kneeing a man in the face.
Court records detail the charges against the former officer, listing felony battery, and two counts of tampering with a witness, among other allegations. The case pivots on the events of April 22, 2023, when, responding to a disturbance, Baseggio reportedly entered a home on Brack Street without a valid warrant, allegedly breaching departmental force guidelines, and inducing serious injuries upon the man he was detained, as reported by FOX 35 Orlando.
After surrendering to the Osceola County Jail on Tuesday, Baseggio, who had served with the police force since January 2, 2007, now faces the consequences of his actions.
