A father from Lake County has been apprehended following the appalling murder of his 9-year-old daughter, Jamaria Sessions, the Lake County Sheriff's Office disclosed. Lo Juan Sessions was taken into custody on Friday in Orange County and has been charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child in connection with his daughter's tragic demise, as reported by WESH.
The arrest of Lo Juan Sessions came shortly after the apprehension of his girlfriend, Tyshael Elise Martin, who is currently facing charges of first-degree murder, among other allegations linked to the case. The nine-year-old was found dead in her Montverde home in June, presenting with a gamut of injuries, including "numerous abrasions, bruises, burns and possible bite marks," according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office as detailed by WESH. Jamaria's death was later confirmed as homicide by the medical examiner, who cited multiple blunt force trauma and a thermal injury to her right foot.
According to Fox 35 Orlando, details from the arrest report describe a harrowing scene captured by home security video footage. It allegedly shows Martin inciting the family dog, weighing 103 pounds, to mercilessly attack Jamaria. Officials have branded the video content as "graphic," and in it, Martin is also accused of kicking, dragging, and physically abusing the child. "I don't think I have ever seen anything so graphic and like I said, savage is an appropriate word to describe this," Lt. John Herrell with the Lake County Sheriff's Office stated, as per WESH.
This line of frequent punishments also involved the child being commanded to run on a treadmill and being struck with various objects, as noted by FOX 35 Orlando. Martin remains in custody as she was denied bond, while the exact details of Lo Juan's involvement and the nature of the charges against him remain under scrutiny.
