Heads up, Duluth pedestrians and nature enthusiasts: if you're planning a stroll or a bike ride along the scenic Lakewalk, you'll need to reroute on Wednesday. A stretch of this much-beloved trail, specifically between 40th and 43rd Avenues East, is getting a temporary timeout for some greenery grooming. According to the City of Duluth's announcement, tree removal work is the cause of this daytime disruption with the closure beginning at the crack of dawn, 7:30 AM, and lasting until the commuters' crunch time, at around 4:00 PM.
We've all been there — dodging work zones can be a bit of a drag, but in the name of safety for walkers, joggers, and the work crew hustling on the scene, it's a minor detour for a day, as per the City of Duluth.
"Thanks to the public for their patience and cooperation while this work is completed," as stated by the City of Duluth.
