Drivers in the Las Vegas area should be prepared for some changes coming to a popular road intersection next week. According to an announcement from Clark County, there will be lane restrictions at Dean Martin Drive and Twain Avenue starting from 8 p.m. on Sunday. This is to allow for installation of a new median, an effort that's expected to cause some disruption in the area.
The construction work is slated to last through Thursday, with southbound Dean Martin Drive just north of Twain Avenue reduced to just one lane. Additionally, to make way for this project, the southbound turn lane from Dean Martin Drive to westbound Twain Avenue will be temporarily shut down. Officials have also noted that one of the northbound turn lanes from Frank Sinatra Drive to southbound Dean Martin Drive will be out of service during this time.
The roads are set to reopen over the weekend from August 22 through the evening of August 25. The pressing nature of road construction invariably brings a measure of relief with completion. Yet, brace yourselves, as work is set to resume again at 8 p.m. on August 25 with more limited traffic impacts anticipated, concluding on August 27, as indicated by Clark County's notice.
With multiple agencies reportedly having construction projects underway in the area, commuters are encouraged to stay updated. For those looking to navigate the expected delays and detours, real-time information can be accessed via navigation apps such as Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps. The recommendation from Clark County comes as a handy tip for drivers seeking to potentially avoid longer drive times and optimize their routes during the construction period.
