Las Vegas officials have apprehended a man sought for a double homicide that took place in Victorville, Southern California. The suspect, identified as Donnie Griffin, 50, was arrested this past Wednesday.
Griffin was wanted in connection with the deaths of Cody McFann, 35, and Melissa Quintero, 39. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, a family dispute became violently physical on Sunday, July 28. News3 Las Vegas reports that when McFann and Quintero arrived on the scene, an altercation escalated, which led Griffin to arm himself and fatally shoot both individuals before fleeing.
The law enforcement's pursuit led them to a residence in Las Vegas, where, after securing a warrant, Griffin was found and detained. The collaborative effort included the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and the U.S. Marshals Service. News3 Las Vegas clarified that while a booking photo was not immediately available, jail records indicate that Griffin is being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center.
The incident on San Jacinto Drive was reportedly sparked by a family argument gone awry. "Deputies learned upon arrival that a verbal argument between family members had turned physical," as per KTLA. Griffin, listed as a Victorville resident, is currently awaiting extradition back to California to face charges for his alleged crimes. Griffin's initial court date has been set for Monday, Aug. 5, where he will appear to address the out-of-state warrant against him.
