After a year-long manhunt, Anne Arundel County Police have finally apprehended the second suspect in a chilling homicide case. On the morning of February 8, 2023, the quiet of Laurel was shattered by the sound of gunfire in the 3500 block of Russett Green East. Antwaun D. Conyers, aged 32 from New Carrollton, was found dead from gunshot wounds on the sidewalk, as reported by the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

An intensive investigation by the Major Crimes Section - Homicide Unit ensued, leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of one Rakyia Talley. Details on how the detectives tied Talley to the crime remain undisclosed, however, the Anne Arundel County Police Department has consistently urged the public to provide any pertinent information to aid the case. Talley, who is now 46, was taken into custody days after the murder.
The dogged determination of the Anne Arundel County Police Fugitive Apprehension Team paid off on August 29 when Rojas was located in Baltimore. Working in collaboration with the United States Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, they successfully arrested Rojas without incident. Charged with First and Second Degree Murder, among other assault and weapons-related offenses, Rojas, now 28, faces grave legal consequences for his alleged role in the murder of Antwaun D. Conyers.
