Livermore Kohl's Theft Leads to Arrest of Duo with Criminal Warrants, Stash of Stolen Goods and Drugs FoundSource: Livermore Police Department

On Sunday afternoon, Livermore Police Department officers rushed to the local Kohl's after receiving reports of a theft in progress. According to the police department's X account, the incident occurred just before 2:30 p.m., when they apprehended Angelica Gomez, a 44-year-old transient from San Leandro, linked to the alleged heist.

During the law enforcement encounter, it was discovered that Gomez had an existing warrant out of San Mateo County. In a search accompanying her arrest, police found she had burglary tools along with the stolen merchandise. Meanwhile, Jesus Ayala-Zarate, an acquaintance of Gomez encountered in the parking lot, had been wanted on multiple felony warrants through Alameda County with no bail offered. Identified as a 33-year-old also hailing from San Leandro, Ayala-Zarate was taken into custody.

Both suspects were subsequently transported to Santa Rita Jail. Scrutiny of the pair's vehicle yielded an unsettling collection of items. The discoveries included hundreds of stolen clothing pieces still bearing tags and sensors, a variety of household goods, cosmetics, as well as illicit substances. Specifically, officers found a loaded .22 caliber revolver with ammunition and 11.5 grams of meth, thoughtfully packaged for sale.
