The landscape of downtown Orlando is set to change with the arrival of a luxury Kimpton hotel, part of the Westcourt mixed-use project. David Carlock, founder and principal of Machete Group, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "We have a pretty strong point of view for these kinds of projects, which are tightly integrated and fairly large-scale placemaking," as reported by WFTV.
The development partnership of JMA Ventures and Machete Group, in collaboration with Orlando Magic and the DeVos family, aims to firmly establish to create an encompassing environment for work, play, and stay. Poised to enhance the Parramore district's skyline, the 11-story boutique hotel will include 261 rooms, ample meeting space, and several dining venues, as detailed by Bungalower. Amenities such as in-room yoga mats, evening socials, and pet-friendly services are part of Kimpton's signature offerings.
Adjacent to the Kia Center, the hotel will serve as a cornerstone for the new Westcourt entertainment district. Besides lodging, plans for the district include 300,000 square feet of office space, 120,000 square feet of retail, a 3,500-capacity live event venue, and parking facilities to cater to the burgeoning number of visitors and professionals alike.
In addition to the hotel, residential options are to also be included within the Westcourt framework, combining 265 multifamily rental units above the hotel. The collaborative mission is to integrate diverse elements of urban living into a cohesive unit, with expectations for the entire project's completion set for March 2027, as per Bungalower's report.
