In an event that underscores the daily challenges and duties of local law enforcement, two officers from the LVMPD Summerlin Area Command have been recognized for their act of dedication and resolve. Officers Jeremy Robertson and Diana Wohlers, who were featured in a ceremony at Resorts World Las Vegas, were recently involved in the rescue of a missing woman requiring urgent medical attention.
According to a body camera video released by the LVMPD Facebook page, the two officers located the woman, who appeared confused and disoriented, inside a steep, and hardly accessible flood control area. Despite the challenging terrain, which prevented vehicle access, Wohlers and Robertson utilized an ATV to navigate the flood channel. This ATV was provided through the generous donation, by the Howard Hughes Corporation.
"Their body camera video showed their concern and compassion for the woman in distress," LVMPD highlighted the officers' actions, which ultimately resulted in the woman being safely returned to her home after a necessary evaluation by medical personnel. The incident serves as a vivid reminder of the unpredictable and often hazardous situations law enforcement officers may face.
Moreover, the Good Ticket ceremony held at Resorts World Las Vegas was an apt occasion to honor these law enforcement officers for their unwavering commitment to serving the community. Officers Robertson and Wohlers' good deed goes beyond the call of duty, reflecting the human element inherent in their line of work. Their quick thinking and concern for the well-being of a citizen in need, reinforce the essential role they play within the community they serve.
