
A severe collision occurred on Friday when a man driving a stolen box truck crashed into a municipal employee in Phoenix, as per police reports detailed by AZ Family. The incident took place near the junction of 62nd Avenue and Indian School Road at approximately 12:30 p.m., causing significant disruptions in the area. AZ Family footage captured the aftermath, showing the U-Haul vehicle in a heavy collision with the worker's truck.
The Phoenix Police, according to FOX 10 Phoenix, informed that the suspect is now hospitalized, fighting for his life and it is uncertain where the truck was stolen from they are investigating whether the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident. The pedestrian, identified as a City of Phoenix employee with the Streets Department and who was on duty during the crash, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment at a nearby hospital.
The identities of both the individual at the wheel of the stolen vehicle and the city employee have not been disclosed, keeping with an investigation that is still unfolding. As the Phoenix Police worked to piece together the events that led to this near-fatal incident, they had to shut down traffic at the intersection to collect evidence, though it has since reopened to the public.
