A tragic incident occurred last Saturday at Hartwell Marina where a 47-year-old man lost his life after a fall into the waters of Lake Hartwell. The man, identified as Randy Lamar Beasley, reportedly drowned on Saturday, as confirmed by the Hart County Sheriff's Office. In a report by FOX 5 Atlanta, authorities received a distress call concerning the possible drowning at about 7:19 p.m.
Multiple agencies, including the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Hart County Emergency Management, EMS, and the fire department, were involved in the response. The sheriff's office reported that the victim attempted to move from a boat to the dock before falling into the water and did not resurface. A remotely operated vessel played a crucial role in locating Beasley, who was submerged in an estimated 16 feet of water. The recovery effort concluded with the retrieval of Beasley's body at 9:05 p.m., which was then turned over to the Hart County Coroner's Office.
