The quiet of Stowe Township was shattered Monday afternoon when gunfire rang out on Pleasant Ridge Road, leaving one man dead. According to WPXI, emergency crews were dispatched at around 3:20 p.m., responding to a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, first responders found James Nelson Jr., 42, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Nelson was pronounced dead. The Allegheny County medical examiner confirmed the identity of the victim, Mr. Nelson, a resident of McKees Rocks.
Authorities launched an intensive search for the perpetrator, with SWAT and police units reported by WTAE to have surrounded and entered a house in the vicinity on the premise that the shooter might have taken refuge there. However, the house was cleared and no suspect was found inside.
