
A man has been fatally shot during an altercation in Seattle's Central District, according to local authorities. The incident took place shortly before 11:00 a.m. in the 1800 Block of South Jackson Street. Seattle Police Department officials arrived on the scene to find a 44-year-old male unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds in an apartment building.
Officers on the scene attempted to quickly administer life-saving measures before the arrival of the Seattle Fire Department. The victim was subsequently transported to Harborview Medical Center in a critical condition. Despite efforts by the medical staff to successfully revive him, the man was pronounced deceased. The initial 911 call had captured sounds of an altercation prior to the shooting, however, the precise circumstances that led to the tragic event remain unclear at this time.
The SPD's Homicide Unit is now actively involved in uncovering the series of events that led up to the shooting. No suspects have yet been identified or apprehended, as detectives continue to piece together witness accounts and gather evidence in the hope to bring clarity and justice to this case.
