The attack took place outside the Maverick MBTA stop around 9 p.m., and Boston police said that no arrests have been made as yet, the investigation pressing forward into the shadowed crevices of our conceptions of public safety. NBC Boston notes that this violent episode sent ripples through the community's tranquility, punctuating the evening with sirens and the harsh glare of emergency lights.
Further details are sparse as authorities have yet to reveal the circumstances that led to the stabbing or any potential suspects involved. It has however been confirmed that service disruptions ensued on the Blue Line, due to the necessary police activity, the MBTA citing delays of about 15 minutes which were later resolved.
Boston Police alongside Transit Police Department officials were present following the incident, their procedures casting a hush over the usual bustle of Maverick Square while evidence bags and markers were visible, perhaps the only overt signs of the turmoil that had taken place.
