A violent altercation at a Nashville gas station led to gunfire early Wednesday morning, leaving one man injured. The incident, which occurred on the 3700 block of Dickerson Pike, unfolded when two vehicles arrived at the scene and a dispute between the drivers erupted. According to WKRN, one of the individuals involved proceeded to fire a weapon during the confrontation.

Responding officers found the victim with two gunshot wounds to the leg, injuries described as non-life-threatening by authorities. The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) continues to actively seek to locate the suspect, who fled the scene. Officers responded to the gas station just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, as per WKRN.

Further elaborating on the incident, a WSMV report identified the altercation as stemming from an argument between the two men outside an Exxon gas station. The narrative constructed by witnesses and authorities describes one man driving a gray car arriving first, quickly followed by another in a light blue Hyundai Santa Fe. Tempers flared nearly immediately upon their arrival, escalating rapidly to a violent outcome.

The gunman, police say, drove off in the Hyundai Santa Fe after shooting the other man. This detail adds to the urgency of MNPD's efforts to quickly identify and apprehend the individual responsible. The injured man, meanwhile, received prompt medical attention and was transported to a local hospital for his wounds.
