Yesterday morning, a 33-year-old man found himself the victim of a brutal robbery attempt which led to him being stabbed multiple times; the incident took place in the 9300 block of Somerset Road, an area not far from the humming arteries of New Laredo Highway and Interstate 35, according to San Antonio police. As KENS 5 reported, the man was picked up and later attacked under the guise of a car with a purportedly flat tire; the suspects then attempted to rob him, and in the chaos, the man was stabbed.
Following the altercation which police say occurred around 2 a.m., the injured man sought refuge and assistance at a nearby apartment complex, where he managed to call for help — following the stabbing, he was transported to University Hospital to tend to at least four stab wounds, this series of events culminating in what can only be described as a harrowing escape from an encounter that could have very well ended his life. Details surrounding the initial meeting between the victim and the suspects remain unclear, with the San Antonio Police Department not specifying the relationship if any or why the man was first picked up on that fateful ride, these tidbits according to a KSAT report.
The assailants responsible for the stabbing have yet to be apprehended, having fled the scene after the violent encounter, the investigation into their identities and the sequence of events leading up to the incident is ongoing.
