Man Stable, Child Grazed by Bullet in Early Morning Shooting in Shelby County

Early Friday morning in Shelby County, a man and a child became the latest victims of gun violence. According to Action News 5, Shelby County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of a shooting on Brady Hill Drive around 2 a.m. where they found a man with a gunshot wound and a girl grazed by a bullet.

The man's condition was stable, as he was transported to Regional One Hospital in what deputies described as a non-critical condition; however, the child was treated on the scene reports indicate that the night’s events are part of an ongoing investigation, stressing the continued lack of security permeating the streets. This is according to information obtained from WREG.

Details surrounding the incident remain scarce, with Local Memphis reporting that the shooting incident took place just before 2:30 a.m., and highlighted the timely intervention of deputies who were quick to assist the injured. The site of the incident, the 6900 block of Brady Hill Dr., became a temporary care station as emergency personnel attended to the young girl there.

The SCSD has not provided any updates on potential suspects or motives behind the incident.
