A shooting incident left a man wounded in Beaver County on Friday morning, leading him to seek assistance at a local Planet Fitness. As reported by WPXI, Monaca police arrived at a residence on the 2000 block of Marshall Road shortly before 8:15 a.m. upon receiving reports of a man shot. The 43-year-old victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the hand, made his way to a Planet Fitness in Center Township for aid.
Officers from the Center Township police provided assistance to the wounded man until medical personnel arrived, after which he was transported by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital. His injury was identified as non-life-threatening. Meanwhile, a 57-year-old suspect was detained in Aliquippa after being located in a red pickup truck, said the authorities, however, was later released as the investigation proceeded, no charges had been filed at the time.
More details about the incident were reported by CBS News Pittsburgh, stating that the suspect had fled the scene of the shooting, prompting a subsequent search. He was eventually spotted in the 1000 block of Main Street in Aliquippa and turned over to Monaca Police.
