Authorities in the northwest suburbs of Chicago are actively searching for Osceola Little, a 38-year-old man wanted in connection with a homicide in the city. According to CBS News Chicago, Little fled on foot from Chicago police while at a Lake Barrington business near Route 14 and Pepper Road. Described as 5-foot-10 and weighing approximately 165 pounds, he is considered to be possibly armed and dangerous. The Lake County Sheriff's Office has advised the public to call 911 upon sighting the suspect but to not approach him.

The manhunt started after investigators tracked a dark blue Chevrolet pickup truck, said to be connected to the homicide, to the area of Route 14 and Pepper Road. Following a pursuit and a crash, the vehicle was eventually found abandoned at Swiss Automation, 1020 West Northwest Highway in Barrington. "The male black suspect, who is in his 30s with a white cutoff t-shirt, fled on foot from the car," the Lake County Sheriff’s Office stated as reported by Lake & McHenry County Scanner. It is believed that Little may be armed with two guns.

In response to the ongoing situation, Barrington 220 School District buildings were placed under a soft lockdown, as per CBS News Chicago. An email from the district to families assured that all students and staff were safe and that classes would continue normally.
