A sizeable inferno ravaged a house near the Duxbury waterfront early this morning, as reported by first responders. Duxbury police shared the initial call on social media, formerly known as Twitter, with emergency units swiftly converging to Bay Avenue. According to the Duxbury Fire Department's updates, all off-duty firefighters were urgently summoned to contain the damaging blaze, signaling a second alarm level of severity.

Complicating efforts to quickly extinguish the fire, mutual aid was requested from the surrounding towns' firefighting departments. They were brought in not only to assist on the scene but also to helplessly stand by to cover any additional emergency calls within the town. Images released by the fire department portrayed a scene where flames were visibly consuming half of the residential structure.
No residents were within the home when the fire erupted, and only one firefighter sustained minor injuries during the response, as per the Duxbury Fire Department's communication. The home, located mere blocks from the calming embrace of the waterfront, bore the brunt of the disaster – aerial footage captured by NBC Boston depicting heavy plumes of smoke issuing forth from its broken shell.
While the house is reported to likely be a total loss, a formal estimate of the damages wrought by the fire has yet to be established, and the root cause igniting the tragedy remains to be determined as investigations continue to try and piece together the events that led to the fiery calamity.
