McDonald's has ventured into new territory with the launch of its CosMc’s concept, a "small-format, beverage-led" spinoff that emphasizes creative drinks and a streamlined food menu. The latest outpost in San Antonio, Texas, opened its doors to the public yesterday, bringing the total number of CosMc's locations to five. According to a press release mentioned in CultureMap San Antonio, the San Antonio spot is the first to boast an outdoor lobby area and covered patio, enhancing the customer experience beyond the traditional fast-food confines.
The new location is kicking off its grand opening on August 10-11 from 10 am to 4 pm, where patrons can freely sample menu items and snag exclusive merchandise for the first 100 customers each day. With the promise of both an inviting atmosphere and innovative beverages, it's clear that CosMc's is attempting to redefine the fast casual dining scene. Visitors of the San Antonio CosMc’s can easily order via a drive-thru, at self-serve kiosks, or through the CosMc's app, as reported by TODAY.com.
CosMc’s offers a rather eclectic mix of drinks and eats. The San Antonio location introduces the Sprite Moonsplash, a twist on the classic soda with added vanilla and citrus accented with dried blueberries and a lemon wheel. Other signature beverage options like the Popping Pear Slush, and Churro Cold Brew Frappé are also available. Food items such as the Spicy Queso Sandwich and the Creamy Avocado Tomatillo Sandwich provide substance in addition to the variety of thirst quenchers on hand.
The CosMc’s Club loyalty program also makes its debut, allowing customers to earn points on purchases, and enjoy a free welcome drink, and a complimentary birthday item. These benefits are positioned to inject just a bit more incentive for patrons to become regulars. With locations already in Arlington, Dallas, Watauga, and Bolingbrook, Illinois, a spokesperson for CosMc’s told TODAY.com that they plan to "up to ten" more locations in the Dallas and San Antonio metro areas shortly, signifying a rapid expansion for the beverage-minded spinoff.
Intrigue around the concept has been building since the first CosMc's opened in Bolingbrook, Illinois in December 2023, causing a stir significant enough to warrant changes to local traffic patterns, due to the influx of curious customers.
