Early on August 6, the Memphis Police Department responded to a break-in at an optometry business located at 6060 Primacy Parkway, where authorities affirmed that a trio of burglars enacted a theft of eyeglass frames with an estimated value of $10,000, reported the MPD on their Facebook page. The suspects, after committing the burglary, escaped in a white Dodge Caravan distinctive for a flashing security globe light on the dash, the direction of their flight remains obscured by the quiet that follows unlawful takes.
The MPD has since issued descriptions of the individuals involved: one man with a beard seen wearing a red hat, black hoodie, gloves, and a mask, another taller bearded man dressed in dark clothes, and a suspected woman in a red hoodie and mask, WREG detailed the descriptions. Despite the early hour, their actions were as clear as day, a bold incursion that left the business stripped of its optical commodities, the suspects have yet to be apprehended and their intentions unfathomable, save for the gain of ill-gotten goods.
The suspects were last seen occupying a white Dodge Caravan, one with a distinctive flashing light within, an element which might stand out to the public and help lead to their capture, FOX13 Memphis reported. The police have made a public appeal, requesting that anyone with information to reach out to CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH, with assurances of anonymity and even a possible cash reward for tips leading to an arrest.
While the incident at this Primacy Parkway business serves as a stark reminder of the persistence of crime within our urban landscapes, it is the response of the community that may yet again shine a beacon of hope, the Memphis Police Department, with its storied history dating back to 1827, continues to stand as a protector in the fight against this tide of misdeeds, the department's Facebook post read. In the effort to combat such blatant thievery, everyone is a potential ally in restoring justice, with law enforcement relying on the eyes and ears of citizens to serve as an extended arm of deterrence and order.
