The search is on in Memphis for two young women accused of a brazen act of violence—a carjacking at gunpoint. According to information from Action News 5, the Memphis Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating the pair, who allegedly turned on a man that had offered them a lift to the local Superman Market gas station on Summer Avenue on July 29.
Instead of a peaceful jaunt to a convenience store, the journey for the driver, who has not been named, ended with him being ordered at gunpoint to relinquish his 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, as detailed in a report also found on WREG. The vehicle has since been found, but the women are still at large. The Memphis Police Department's social media appeal describes the first suspect as a thin Hispanic woman between 18-20, clad in a white top and denim skirt, and the second as of a medium build, also 18-20, wearing a black top and denim skirt.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the carjacking or the suspects' whereabouts to come forward. "Anyone with information about this incident should call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH," the Memphis Police Department posted on Facebook. Confidentiality is assured, with tipsters receiving a secret ID number to protect their identity.
