After a request for action from the Shelby County Mayor's Office, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) carried out a major operation in the Mount Pisgah area. They seized drugs, and firearms, and arrested four people on felony charges. During a search on Skylark Drive, they found two pistols, a rifle, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition, according to Action News 5.
Keithland Scott, 47, was apprehended on said premises on charges encompassing aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and various drug and firearm-related offenses. Notably, Scott was released without bond the following day. In a neighboring home on Fieldlark Avenue, a second search revealed an even larger cache: fourteen firearms, which included both machine guns and pistols and a sizable amount of narcotics and cash, as indicated by FOX13 Memphis. Three individuals were arrested from this location, with the suspects facing a mix of weapon and drug-related charges.
WREG detailed that among the arrested were Cridarious Anderson, 29, and Jaquavious Anderson, 26, with the former charged with 18 counts of firearm possession during the commission of a felony, six counts of machine gun possession, and including the additional charge of marijuana possession with intent to distribute. Jaquavious, on the other hand, is faced with a series of felons in possession of firearm charges, as well as machine gun possession and firearm theft. Jail records show that the bonds set for the Andersons were $100,000 and $500,000 respectively.
Additionally, Diamond Porter, 22, was arrested on an existing domestic assault warrant, and her list of charges now includes machine gun possession and firearm theft, with a bond set at $44,000. The actions taken by MPD exemplify the significance of community engagement in law enforcement's efforts to curtail crime.
