A man linked to multiple shootings in Memphis has been arrested and charged, with the Memphis Police Department confirming the connection between a recent shooting and an earlier bar incident. Javarious Douglas, 24, faces an array of charges, including criminal attempt first-degree murder and reckless endangerment with a dangerous weapon.

According to Action News 5, ballistics from the scene of the North Memphis shooting on May 30 were used to indict Douglas in the August 4 Focuz Lounge shooting, where four individuals were injured. At the scene of the May incident, police discovered around 70 spent shell casings.

The incident in May unfolded when a woman, walking her dog with her husband near Faxon Avenue and Greenlaw Avenue, suffered a gunshot wound as two men began to openly fire at each other. In a chilling encounter recorded by WREG, the woman recounted how the pair were attempting to reach home when they found themselves caught in the crossfire, resulting in her critical injury. Officers note that besides the woman, a residence was also shot multiple times, though no injuries were reported from within the home.

Since his arrest, the female victim has positively identified Douglas in a photo lineup as one of the shooters. It is reported by News Nation Now that Douglas had previously been indicted on multiple charges, including criminal attempt first-degree murder from a separate incident in March 2023. He was out on bond at the time of the later shootings.
