The Metropolitan Police Department is reaching out to the public for help in identifying two suspects involved in a retail theft case. The incident occurred in Northwest D.C. last month, where the suspects were reported to have stolen merchandise and left the scene.
This theft took place in the 1700 block of 14th Street, Northwest, according to an official police release. At around 6 p.m. on July 17, the two individuals entered the retail store and quickly fled after taking the goods. The police are urging anyone who might have knowledge about the suspects to step forward, emphasizing that citizens should not engage but rather contact law enforcement directly.
A video of the suspects, captured on the establishment's security cameras, has been circulated in hopes that some community member may recognize the individuals. The MPD is incentivizing the community to assist with the investigation, offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case.
The department has provided several channels for the community to securely provide tips. The tip lines are open for anyone who against the suspects has knowledge or is able to identify them.
