
Community members in Northwest are being called upon by the Metropolitan Police Department to assist in the identification of a suspect involved in a recent robbery. According to an MPD release, the incident unfolded on the morning of August 7, when a suspect targeted a local establishment on Mount Pleasant Street, brandishing a firearm to extort money before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of US currency. Fortunately, no physical harm befell the victim during the crime.
In their pursuit of justice, authorities provided a precise timestamp, noting that the reported robbery took place at approximately 10:02 a.m. The victim recounted that upon the suspect's entry, immediate demands were made for money, the victim complied, and this sequence of events resulted in the suspect escaping with the money, as per the MPD.
The MPD offers up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible for violent crimes.
