A 41-year-old Michigan man was arrested on multiple drug charges this past weekend at the Phish Mondegreen Festival in Dover, Delaware. The man, identified as Douglas Gallagher of Ann Arbor, faced the law after being caught with an assortment of illegal substances on Saturday, as per a report by the Delaware State Police.
Gallagher's run-in with the authorities occurred after he reportedly bolted from a security checkpoint upon discovery of drugs in his vehicle, the law enforcement's official statement detailed a routine search turned sour. Gallagher attempted a brief escape but later returned to the checkpoint, where the troopers detained him; their subsequent investigation led them to a nearby campsite where Gallagher had hidden more drugs in a small plastic container, including LSD, ketamine, and MDMA.
Detailed in the police report, a search of Gallagher's vehicle revealed a significant haul: approximately 46.10 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 1.18 grams of MDMA, 2.24 grams of ketamine, 19 tabs of LSD, 42.46 grams of marijuana, 21 MDMA pills, and suspected THC gummies alongside materials for distribution and packaging. The seized items hint at the intent to distribute, a hefty allegation coupled with possession charges.
After the arrest, Gallagher was charged with a slew of drug offenses including Possession of Controlled Substance Tier 3 Quantity, Possession of Controlled Substance Tier 1 Quantity, and multiple other charges related to possession and paraphernalia, he was taken to Troop 3 for processing and was released on a $5,250 secured bond after being arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7.
