The anticipated timeline for further improvements includes surface restorations by another contractor, Q3 Contracting. According to CenterPoint Energy's recent update, this work is planned for August or September, pending the progression of current installations. As part of the neighborhood's facelift, affected sidewalks will also receive attention once the service line and meter work has reached completion.
Meanwhile, the gears are in motion on Laurel Avenue, with another gas main installation set to wrap up by August 16. Early the following week, Michels Corporation will connect this new segment to the existing network at the crossroads of Laurel Avenue and Sheridan Avenue S. Q3 Contracting is also slated to prepare the site for road restorations around Thomas Avenue S. in the coming days, keeping traffic flowing at pivotal junctures.
Moving forward, Thomas Avenue S. residents can expect to see crews pressing on with main installations, aiming to conclude the stretch from Mount View Avenue to Chestnut Avenue by August 19. It's been confirmed that the final touches—sidewalk and pedestrian ramp restorations—are on the docket for Q3 Contracting in the week of August 26, at the intersection of Laurel Avenue and Upton Avenue S.
