According to the Department of Public Safety Blog, the role of examiners is critical as they not only administer tests but also inspect motor vehicles, playing a key part in ensuring that only qualified individuals take to the roads. To meet the high demand head-on, funded by the Legislature's decision, positions are now open across Minnesota, inviting potential examiners to be a part of the driving force keeping the streets safe.

Jody-Kay Peterson, the DVS vehicle services director, voiced her understanding of the frustration that comes with appointment waits. "We certainly understand these appointment wait times can be frustrating," Peterson told DVS' official blog. "That's why we're doing everything in our power to make sure you get the timely service you deserve."
DVS also highlighted that an average of 23 percent of appointments lead nowhere, being either no-shows or canceled too late to be recycled into the system. The proper cancellation of an appointment at least 24 hours in advance could potentiate its return to the subscription service, thereby serving another Minnesotan's quest for mobility.
