In the wake of routine maintenance findings, Mokulele Airlines has announced a temporary grounding of part of its fleet, effective from August 17 through August 20, to perform necessary inspections. The announcement was made by Mokulele Airlines and confirmed by the Hawaii Department of Transportation.

During this period, operations will be reduced, and some flights have been suspended according to a statement from Hawaii Department of Transportation. Mokulele Airlines, which has a robust inter-island service within Hawaii, connecting airports such as Daniel K. Inouye International Airport and Kahului Airport, has stopped taking reservations for the affected weekend, to minimize impact on its customers.

As outlined by Hawaii Department of Transportation, Mokulele will conduct limited flights between select airports—Kahului Airport, Molokaʻi Airport, Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, and Lānaʻi Airport—and will operate with other airlines to keep disruptions at bay. "On Sunday, August 18, the airline will operate at half capacity, with at least three flights with 24 seats into MKK and 12 seats departing MKK per flight," as reported by KHON2.

To ease the inconvenience caused by the suspension, Mokulele has committed to working with its customers to cover expenses related to the grounding. Recovery to normal service levels is anticipated by Wednesday, August 21. Hawaii Department of Transportation has expressed support for the airline's precautionary measures, advising passengers to check with Mokulele's 24/7 customer service prior to airport departure, to avoid unexpected delays.
