With the expectation of traffic snarls, PennDOT has laid out the nitty-gritty for commuters: Come Monday, August 5 through Friday, August 9, westbound U.S. 422 will experience intermittent single lane closures from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM between Evergreen Road and Armand Hammer Boulevard, reported PennDOT. During the same dates, similar single-lane closures will plague eastbound traffic from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, stretching from Keim Street to Evergreen Road. Motorists planning to navigate these stretches are urged to allocate extra travel time to cope with the anticipated delays and backups.

The project, dubbed Section M1B, not only revamps existing sections of U.S. 422 but also modifies alignments to polish horizontal curves, shoulder widths, and vertical clearance.
