Moreno was reported missing from the area. The department's Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) is leading the search efforts.
Last seen wearing a red hoodie, jeans, and carrying a black backpack, the description of Moreno has been widely circulated in hopes that someone might recognize her. Details of her physical appearance have been shared by the police department in a recent press release. Moreno is described as approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs around 135 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.
According to the Montgomery County press release, the concern for Moreno's safety is particularly strong because of her age and the length of time she has been missing. The Montgomery County police are urging anyone who might have seen Leilani or who has any information that could lead to her location to contact the Special Victims Investigations Division. Community members and local businesses are also being asked to check their security footage for any possible sightings of Moreno which, may aid in the investigation.
