A 54-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a pick-up truck in Lorain County, as per reports provided by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. yesterday on U.S. Route 20 at the intersection with State Route 58. The collision involved a 2017 Yamaha VMX17 motorcycle and a 2020 Ram 1500 pick-up truck.
Charles Ford, the motorcyclist from Wakeman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Despite wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, Ford's injuries were fatal. The 64-year-old pick-up truck driver from Wellington sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Oberlin Mercy Hospital, Cleveland 19 reported. The Highway Patrol noted that the pick-up was in the process of turning southbound onto State Route 58 when the motorcycle struck it.
