Authorities at the Metropolitan Police Department have announced the arrest of a suspect connected to an attempted robbery incident in the Northeast region of the city. According to details released by MPD, the incident occurred on the morning of August 30, in the 1100 block of 5th Street, Northeast.
The report described how at approximately 8:50 a.m., the suspect approached the victim and demanded their cell phone, as per the Metropolitan Police Department. After the victim's refusal, the suspect fled empty-handed from the scene. Officers who promptly arrived at the location, pursuing the suspect, managed to apprehend him shortly after the attempted robbery.
Further investigation led by police detectives resulted in charges against 34-year-old Luther Garvin who reportedly lacks a permanent address. Garvin now faces attempted robbery charges, as outlined by the MPD's official announcement
