Washington D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department is actively seeking assistance from locals in apprehending a suspect connected to a burglary in the Northeast area of the city. The incident, which involved forceful entry into a business located on the 500 block of H Street, Northeast, took place last Saturday, at that time the suspect managed to obtain property before making their getaway.
The time of the burglary was approximately 12:51 p.m., after which, according to the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect fled the scene without a trace. The department has not only reached out to the neighborhood for assistance but also extended its call through digital means, urging anyone with information to make contact.
Their appeal specifically discourages citizens from taking any direct action, instead directing them to channel their tips safely through official lines. They can call the MPD at (202) 727-9099 or send a message to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE by texting 50411. In a move to encourage community cooperation, MPD has publicized the availability of a reward of up to $1,000, which will be granted for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the responsible party or parties.
