Clearwater residents are facing a series of road closures affecting their daily commute. A significant water main break at the intersection of South Highland Avenue and Belleair Road has resulted in shutdowns to manage the surface and sub-surface leaking. City officials are advising drivers to expect delays and to seek alternate routes if possible, according to the announcement from the City of Clearwater.

Additionally, Lincoln Avenue will remain closed between Pierce and Park streets through August 27 for sewer repair. Motorists are being redirected to Betty Lane as a detour route. Meanwhile, Kings Highway is also under closure between Byram Drive and Alpine Road until August 28, subsequent to an another sewer repair project, with detour signs posted to guide the traffic.

Clearwater has not announced any right-of-way maintenance projects at this time. However, road construction efforts continue, particularly on Magnolia Drive, where the eastbound lane between Brookside and Wellington drives is shut due to bridge damage inflicted by Tropical Storm Debby. The city has not provided a detour for this closure, and the anticipated completion date for repairs remains undetermined, purportedly pending further assessment of the damage.

Commuters and local residents are encouraged to stay informed on the latest traffic updates and road conditions by visiting the City of Clearwater's official website.
