A major accident has brought traffic to a standstill on Westbound Hwy 12 in Santa Rosa. The collision, involving multiple vehicles, has forced the closure of the highway stretch between Stony Point Road and Fulton Road. The incident earlier today summoned Santa Rosa Fire personnel and California Highway Patrol (CHP) units to the scene.
The City of Santa Rosa Fire Department has been actively managing the situation, creating an improvised route through a fence to alleviate the congestion caused by the accident. Motorists trapped between the crash site near Fulton Road and Stony Point Road are being redirected off the freeway.
In a collaborative effort to disentangle the traffic, the Santa Rosa Police Department has also joined the emergency services in assisting with vehicle removal and redirection. However, as of the latest reports, there remains no estimate on when Westbound Highway 12 will be reopened for traffic flow.
