The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) is pushing forward with the effort to restore River Trace off State Route 12. Commuters have been facing disruptions since the road closure, but NDOT is on the case, conducting site evaluations to check on the road's condition and the efficacy of traffic control measures being employed.
In their latest update, the NDOT reported their plans to bring in additional geotechnical expertise, similar to resources used by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) on projects that entail stabilizing exposed rockfaces. These experts are expected to help develop more robust mitigation plans. The department is set to collaborate closely with their contractors and other engineering associates come Wednesday to further discuss these plans.
Nahsville residents and commuters are encouraged to keep a vigilant eye and to promptly report any hazardous conditions they come across. "We want to continue to ask that you report any experienced or observed conditions of concern," the department urged in their statement. The Metro’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is the point of contact for such reports which can be submitted via email at [email protected] or by phone at 615-862-8530.
