A fresh gust of coffee scent is wafting through Tahoe Park neighborhood since a new business, Chaii, took over a location previously home to Starbucks, and it's not just the aroma of freshly ground beans that's invigorating the area. As reported by FOX40, the coffee and tea shop set its roots at 2992 65th Street near Broadway, inaugurating its soft opening on July 28, with plans for a grand opening slated for August 24.
Despite its beige exterior, Chaii is vibrant inside, offering a colorful array of drinks like Boba, teas, and iced beverages, according to the same report by FOX40. Located next to a busy Target and just two miles from Sacramento State campus, Chaii also features a diverse food menu with options like bagels, egg rolls, and Belgian waffles. Popular waffle toppings include classic banana and Nutella, as well as honey and sugar drizzle.
Chaii is praised for its inviting atmosphere, filled with the aromas of espresso and sweet pastries, according to an Instagram post highlighting its spaciousness. The post also applauds the wide range of drink options, from chai tea and matcha lattes to energy-boosting creations with Red Bull. Customizable drinks and a variety of non-dairy milk options cater to all preferences, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Chaii is eager to build community ties, offering a 10% discount to students with a valid ID, as noted in an enthusiastic Instagram post. The coffee shop opens daily at 7 a.m. and stays open until 10 p.m. on select days, catering to both early risers and late-night studiers. Its doors are always open to serve the local residents and nearby students.
