The Coral Springs Aquatics Complex is adding Olympic medalist Bruno Fratus and competitor Michelle Lenhardt to its coaching team, partnering with Swim Phish, Inc. In a move apt for a post-Paris Olympics period, the two bring a variety of medals, records, and athletic prowess right to the poolside of budding swimmers, according to a Coral Spring City press release.
"Coming off the heels of the 2024 Paris Olympics, we could not be more excited to welcome two Olympians who already have strong ties to Coral Springs," Mayor Scott Brook said with these new developments, saying, "Their experience will certainly inspire the athletes they train and elevate our swim program to new heights. We look forward to the positive impact they will undoubtedly have on the swim community." Fratus, who clinched bronze in Tokyo's 50-meter freestyle and boasts a decade of aquatic achievements, is expected to start shaping up swimmers in early September, while Lenhardt, who made waves in Beijing's 4x100 meter freestyle relay and also doubles as a nutrition and health coach, is set to make her coaching debut today, as per the Coral Spring City press release. Fratus's Olympic journey included laps at the very same aquatic facility he'll now be coaching in.
The city's leaders are looking ahead, confident that incorporating top athletes into their training programs will enhance swimmers' performance and foster local talent. Coral Springs is committed to advancing its competitive swimming programs, as outlined in the press release.
