
In the early hours of Sunday morning, tragedy struck Chicago's Chinatown neighborhood when an argument escalated into fatal violence, leaving one man dead and three others injured by gunfire, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times.
The incident occurred outside in the 2100 block of South Canal Street, around 3 a.m, where a group of males became embroiled in a dispute that turned physical and shots rang out, a 39-year-old man was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene, and this marked the culmination of what began as an argument morphed into an outright brawl, and eventually, a shootout, according to Chicago police statements.
A 27-year-old man is now fighting for his life in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, and has been taken to Stroger Hospital, while another man, aged 31, was struck in the leg and is reportedly in fair condition; additionally, a 21-year-old man was also wounded, having been shot in the calf, as both received medical attention at the same hospital and their prognosis leans towards recovery, as per details shared by ABC7 Chicago.
Authorities, still investigating the exact circumstances that led to the incident have not made any arrests, nor have they released any information regarding potential suspects.
