In an effort to bite back against swarms of nuisance mosquitoes, Osceola County Mosquito Control is launching a tech-savvy assault on the bloodsuckers' young. The target: the wet and wild areas of Buenaventura Lakes, where starting this Monday, August 12, specialized drones will take to the skies, as per Osceola County's announcement.
The operation is set to last a week, mapping out an insecticidal itinerary that runs daily from 7 AM to 3 PM. While residents frequently express concerns about the chemicals flitting through their backyards, officials have reassured them that the substance deployed by the drones is both organic and tailored specifically for annihilating mosquito larvae with no RSVP needed by residents or their pets.
As the project gears up, Osceola County remains open for questions, dropping a line at 407-742-0505 for anyone missing information or needing to ventilate their worries.
