Just last night, Citrus Heights Police Department detectives apprehended 35-year-old Miguel Aragon Torres, a man with previous charges of sexually assaulting a minor, as he violated a restraining order aimed at protecting a 15-year-old girl.
According to a statement from the Citrus Heights PD Facebook page, Torres was caught in the act of attempting to collect the young female, purportedly with the intention of fleeing across the border to Mexico, this intervention by law enforcement thwarted what could have been a critical breach in child protection and an evasion of justice, given that Torres was slated to appear in court the following day in Kern County over the existing charges.
Currently involved in court proceedings, Torres is facing serious allegations in an unfolding legal battle; his arrest now adds the violation of a judicial order to the list of offenses he must answer to. The police acted on intelligence that indicated a planned abduction, quickly moving to ensure the safety of the minor involved.
