A Pittsburgh man, who had previously engaged in a shootout with law enforcement in 2023, has finally been apprehended. According to details from TribLIVE, 39-year-old suspect Jarrell Saunders was taken into custody following a period on the run.
Wanted on a bench warrant for a violation of bond conditions since June of this year, Saunders had managed to elude the grasp of the authorities. Entrusted with the task, detectives uncovered intel indicating that the fugitive was holed up inside a residence at an address on the 100 block of Sylvania Avenue, as reported by Audacy. Being inside a residence, the detectives made their presence known, yet no one greeted them, prompting a forced entry.
Upon securing Saunders, he was then delivered over to the Allegheny County Jail where he will await his day in court. The confrontation in which Saunders is implicated involved numerous rounds fired at McKees Rocks Police Officers and agents from the Pennsylvania Attorney General Narcotics Task Force back in February 2023.
