The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office is urging the public to come forward with any details they might possess regarding the events leading up to the tragic death of a Prescott woman. Kristin Little, 39, was flung from her vehicle, a white 1995 Toyota 4Runner, after it plummeted approximately 1,000 feet down a cliffside in the Thumb Butte area on August 16, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. The car crash occurred along Thumb Butte Loop road, nearly two miles from where it intersects with Copper Basin Road.
Initially, during the early investigation stages, deputies discovered her car halfway down the mountainside and then Little's body. As per the sheriff's office, which is piecing together the crash between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., the information, even if it seems minor, could prove pivotal in understanding what transpired. The sheriff's office has issued a statement, as reported by 12 News, saying, "Your information, no matter how small it may seem, could be crucial in helping to piece together the events leading up to this tragic incident."
Investigators are also looking into the possibility of other vehicles being involved or any witnesses who might have observed the accident. They are particularly keen on gathering details about Little's Toyota 4Runner or any sightings of the vehicle before the crash took place. The Yavapai Silent Witness program is offering a number to call for anyone who might be able to contribute information in an anonymous capacity: 1-800-932-3232.
Expressing their grief, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office extended "our deepest condolences to the family and friends affected by this incident and thank the community for their assistance during this difficult time," as described in their recent Facebook posts and press release. Anyone with relevant information is also encouraged to reach out to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office directly at (928)771-3260.
